There’s a parable about a wolf that encounters a domesticated dog sleeping outside its master’s home. The dog confides to the wolf how content he is to have a warm place to sleep every night, along with dependable food and water provided by his master.
The wolf listens and ponders this different way of life, wondering whether that might be a great way for him to live as well, until he notices the dog’s collar, and realizes that the dog has exchanged its freedom for security. The wolf, remembering its true essence, decides to have none of what the dog’s life has to offer, and returns to the wild.
It takes courage doing what comes most natural and staying true to yourself, when it’s not what others expect of you.
It takes conscious practice, commitment and accountability to make this a priority. At times, this may come across as saying no to others and other things, but at the end of the day, it means you’re choosing to say yes to yourself instead.
Where are you keeping yourself collared in your one wild precious life, and where would you like to break free?
I’ve been there and done that.
I’ve waited and postponed doing what I most wanted until life was seriously out of balance and sync, all because I thought it had to look a certain fantastical way, or because I put others and their needs ahead of my own.
I came to learn that walking my talk and desire to connect more deeply with nature was the pro-active pathway to freedom, self-expression and greater possibility, and I am thankful that this is part of my daily life now.
Nature connection has saved and reinvigorated my life, time and time again.
My one-on-one nature connection mentoring programs help you connect more deeply with nature, no matter where you are in life.
My experience as an outdoor educator, Yellowstone park ranger, naturalist guide and entrepreneur have helped me create a process that helps you quickly connect with and relax in the beauty of the natural world, and better equips you for navigating life changes and challenges through your new-found connection with nature.
I work with people all over the country and internationally, so travel, time zone differences, and geography are not an issue.
If you are seeking a knowledgeable, skilled, patient, experienced mentor and guide to help you make nature connection a vital, harmonious, joyful and peaceful part of your life, then you’re in the right place.
If you are yearning to connect with nature in doable, creative, engaging ways, to become better skilled at navigating and embracing life’s ebbs and flows, and maximizing opportunities for creativity and expansion, I’d love to hear from you.
If you’d like to gain greater clarity about what you have and what you want in your life in terms of nature connection, let’s talk, explore the possibilities, and consider whether nature connection mentoring would be a good fit for you.

“I have spent time in nature all of my life and wanted to deepen my connection. I wanted to learn from what I already know, rather than taking a class with people of varying experiences. Hobie’s mentoring has been perfect. He carefully listens to my experiences and offers suggestions suited just to me☺ Hobie mixes up the methods of discovery and learning. I don’t want to tell you what methods he uses because the surprise element is fun and he may choose different processes for you. One part of my journey has been to plan a “River Vision Quest” which didn’t turn out exactly as planned but lead to lots of learning. I felt like Hobie was there with me all the way and I stretched myself beyond what I would have on my own. He is excited as I am about my discoveries while offering his many years of experience and wisdom in nature. Hobie finds ways to relate ordinary life to nature to bring healing and clarity. I enjoyed working with Hobie on the phone, through emails and mail to deepen my connection to nature. How lucky am I to live in New York and receive guidance from Hobie Hare who lives in Montana!”

“When I heard Hobie speak in a teleseminar series, he resonated with me right away. He is a very kind-hearted, gentle soul who shares similar values and goals with me.
Hobie started out helping me to incorporate nature-based teaching into my coaching with kids and adults. But as we worked together, I realized he could help me in other areas.
I am in the process of building my first business and I wanted to create it in a holistic, interconnected way. I didn’t know quite how to do this, but Hobie has helped me tremendously in creating a solid business foundation, and in communicating my strengths as a health coach who values organic, nature-based approaches to healing and wellness.
In business building, my thoughts and visions were very scattered and Hobie intuited what I meant and what direction I wanted to head in. I felt myself really open up and was able to speak freely my thoughts.
Hobie stays on task, is very respectful of time and provides very clear visions that fit me and my business so well. The times that I felt discouraged or somewhat lost, he quickly and easily set me on a fitting path. I just really like him. Thanks tons, Hobie!”

“Before I started working with Hobie, I was spending almost all my time inside my home office or out in suburbia. I was feeling tired and run-down.
Through our work together, I have regular and consistent time in nature, from mini-connections where I walk along the creek right by my condo, to weekly trips to my favorite garden, to bigger monthly outings.
Most importantly, I am consistently filling up my “internal energy tank”, so I’m relaxed in the moment and refreshed for the week ahead.
Hobie gave me an EASY way to come up with ideas and act upon them. He also helped me see the connection between what I struggle with and what I gain in nature, and how that relates to my work coaching women business owners through their struggles and triumphs.
Hobie’s non-judgmental nature and extensive nature experience make it a joy to connect and work with him!”
